So tonight’s event will concentrate on the exciting field of Astrophotography.
It seems nowadays everyone has a camera, be it on a smartphone or a good DSLR. If you do I bet you have pondered using it on the sky – if you haven’t you may just be missing out on one of the most rewarding sides of photography.
Tonight’s event aims to teach the basics of imaging various celestial objects
Learn how to utilise the settings of your camera and what they mean and how to use them wisely on the sky so that you can get some stunning results.
Gary has over 25 years of experience in imaging the night sky and will be on hand to host your learning experience. Then its outside to try it for yourself, so tonight the night to bring your cameras along and start your journey into astrophotography.

By booking this event you have signed up to the following terms and conditions:
- Safety is our first priority – you must adhere to all instructions of the team leading the astronomy session and in particular any guidance or rules surrounding social distancing and Covid 19. You must not do anything to compromise the health and safety of yourself or others and must report any concerns or risks to the onsite team immediately. Should you put yourself or others at risk this may mean that you are politely asked to leave site.
- Your booking is non-refundable. Should we cancel the event for any reason we will however make a full refund or give the option of a transfer to another date. If you are unable to undertake dark sky observing because of cloud cover then we will offer you a 20% discount on a future booking made and taken within 8 weeks of the event.
- You should bring appropriate clothing to keep you warm.
- You should arrive at Grassholme no later than 15 minutes before the start of your session.
- Grassholme is set within the quiet upper Tees Valley and we ask that you drive safely and do not disturb residents with loud music, or other disturbance late at night.
- You should not do anything to disturb or destroy the visitor experience for other attendees and failure to do so may mean that you are politely asked to leave site.
